Blanden, a sub-municipality of Oud-Heverlee, is situated between the Mollendaalbos, the Meerdaalwoud and the Heverleebos. Together they form the largest deciduous forest in Flanders. The ideal location for a relaxing trail walk full of variety.
The starting point is the Municipal Meeting Center of Blanden, located a few hundred meters from the reception gate '' de Torenvalk ". Whether you opt for the 50 or 35 km, the Meerdaal Nature Trail is not only peppered with forests. Picturesque sunken roads, vast views of the rolling South Hageland and ancient square farms are part of this unique trail walk.
Bierbeek's beautiful globe water tower is the safe guiding beacon in the landscape. After which, when crossing the finish line, a wonderfully fresh Tripel Bierbeek awaits everyone.
Meerdaalwoud forms also a real hiking experience for children and young families. The Meerdaal Nature Kids Trail allows children to walk in a playful way. Along the way, natural obstacles and wooden structures provide the adventurous aspect. Plenty of walking, romping and a small reward make the Meerdaal Nature Kids Trail the ideal opportunity to get in touch with the largest deciduous forest in Flanders.
